How can your ingredients come from the Amazon Jungle?

The Amazon rainforest is home to some of the world’s most powerful superfoods and super fruits. We’re sure you’ve heard of the acai berry and sacha inchi oil? These, and most of the superfoods you know about are all grown in the Amazon rainforest. Since we are based in Lima, Peru, we are very close to the source and we travel to the Amazon jungle regularly to pick up our oils.

We currently make our Aguaje Oil (sometimes called buriti oil) in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. We work closely with a small community in the Pacaya-Samiria National reserve who rely on aguaje oil production to sustain their community economically. Luckily for us, this magical natural oil is exactly what we need to treat dry skin and scars.

All of our oils are produced naturally in Peru.

How do I use my oil?

We recommend using Glossy Paradise face oils during your nightly skincare routine. Make sure your makeup is off and your face is very clean. It is best to apply the oil while your face is still a little damp after washing it.

To apply, put a few drops directly on your face, or on the tips of your fingers and gently massage into face. Where fine lines or scars appear, add a little bit more oil, and gently press the oil into the affected area.

You can add a few drops of oil to your nightly moisturiser, the oil will actually help lock in the moisture. Use any extra oil on your neck and cuticles.

Yes, it is also fine to use face oils in the morning. You can add a few drops to your foundation or daily moisturizer in order to get a dewy, glowing look all day. Your face oil can also double as a highlighter. Just apply a few drops to your cheek bones for an extra glow.

What is my Skin Type?

While everyone's skin type is unique, we currently generalize our products into three categories: Oily/Blemish-Prone, Dry/Damaged and All Skin Types. We are working on having more skin types in the future.

Oily/Blemish-Prone: This skin type is exactly as it sounds. You know you have oily skin when in the middle of the day your skin gets shiny and greasy. If you use a tissue to blot your skin, you see oil on the tissue, or worse, feel it on your hands when you accidentally touch your face! Oily skin typically comes with large and visible pores. Those with blemish-prone skin regularly experience acne breakouts. Acne can be caused by hormones, food, makeup, skincare products or environmental factors. Using harsh chemicals to treat acne can actually be counter-intuitive and cause more breakouts and irritated skin.

Dry/Damaged: Dry skin often gets flakey, looks a bit aged and has a rough texture to it. You might experience dry skin in the winter, or dry environments (on a flight!). This formula also helps damaged skin. Is your skin dull-looking or have spots/acne scars? The aguaje oil (buriti) in this formula has a very high level of vitamin A, carotenoids and phytoestrogens that will generate natural oils to help heal the skin.

All Skin Types: Here, we are referring to combination skin and normal skin. Combination skin is when you have both, oily skin and dry skin. You also get the occasional breakout or pimple. Normal skin means that your skin doesn't really get dry, but could occasionally get a bit greasy in the T-Zone area (forehead, nose or chin).

Are your products vegan and plant-based?

Yes, Glossy Paradise natural oils are 100% vegan and plant-based. We will never test on animals and we will always remain cruelty-free. This is of upmost importance to us.

Do your products contain nuts?

Some of our oils are/might be derived from nuts. If you have a nut allergy, we recommend you to speak to your doctor before using any Glossy Paradise products. If an irritation occurs, immediately discontinue use and visit your doctor. By purchasing a Glossy Paradise product, you have agreed to our Disclaimer.

Can I use Glossy Paradise oils if I am Pregnant?

We cannot give out medical advice, we recommend you to speak to your Doctor about using our natural beauty oils while pregnant. By purchasing a Glossy Paradise product, you have agreed to our Disclaimer.

How do I take care of my oil? Does it expire?

Our natural beauty oils do not contain any preservatives. They really are 100% natural, so we recommend a shelf life of no longer then 12 months. Our face oils are packaged in a brown bottle, this bottle protects the oil’s natural botanical ingredients from any light damage. We recommend storing your Glossy Paradise oils in a cool, dark place (aka your beauty cabinet).
